We know that our government is doing its best to protect our environment. We have the Clean Air Act by DENR coordinated with DOTC. Even media are doing its part in preserving our environment through media presentations and programs. Now, we may asked ourselves, are we also doing our part?
Wide range of social community exist today over the internet. Millions of people are engaged over social group even in forums. Each of us are pretty busy with our job and other activities. Now it’s time, to take part in disseminating information to our friends over the internet. Of course, we need to start in our very own surroundings.
We already heard about other activities like planting trees, clean and green project, saving La Mesa Dam project. Even local government units are aware of these. Local government units also introduces to their community different programs and approach in saving the earth. One example implemented in Muntinlupa City is the use of paper as wrapper or bags instead of plastic.
Generally, adherence to Clean Air Act Law is essential. The Government should Increase penalty for non compliance thereof. Government units must address the attention of jeepney operators, buses and private vehicles owner, industrial company and the masses.

We’re already familiar with 3R’s. It is a part of waste management program. To site an example, in Japan, I noticed that they have proper garbage collection as well as segregation. They segregate items as biodegradable and non-biodegradable. Newspapers and magazines are tied together or placed in a box then during the scheduled collection, they leave it outside for pick-up by authorized garbage collectors from their local units. Bottles and cans are disposed properly in a garbage container. You can sense that they are well oriented and disciplined people. Even pets are well kept.
If they can, why can’t we? So let’s start!

Alter Space inside our home
Let’s start saving the earth within our surroundings. Develop waste management program in our home. Teach our members to dispose garbage properly. Show them how to segregate waste items and junks. Inform our family members to develop certain principles of conserving energy and waste disposal. Definitely, we want to keep our home a good place for living. Make and arranged things at home in order. keep it clean and nice to look at, thus making it a bit of heaven.
All appliances must be checked whether they are functioning properly. Checked electrical system and put off appliances not in use. Check water system to conserve water. Build a proper drainage system. These are just examples of keeping surroundings in tune.
Alter Space Using Facebook Sharing
Facebook is widely used all over. People keeps busy whenever they are online, chatting with friends and other connections. Most of them enjoyed much of their time viewing videos or even playing facebook plug-ins like Farmville etc.. At this time, share some ideas about energy conservation and how to lower carbon emissions by posting in their walls.
Let’s share with our friends and relatives over the internet the idea of preserving the earth. If possible remind them to take part in this goal.
Alter Space using Self Discipline
“Armour yourself with faith”. In contrast I would suggest “armour ourselves with discipline”. Discipline is the key to progression. Wherever we go we must set in our minds the need to keep ourselves to be a law abiding citizen. Although we can’t ascertain that we can always abide public ordinances at least we’ve started it out. Gradually, we can be able to stick to our goals. Start and end with much discipline.
