If you have a Canon MP287 and encounter an error P07 this means the ink absorber is full. It needs a resetter. However another error which may need also resetting is E13 which deals with cartridges problem which means that a cartridges is not inserted properly or is not recognized by the printer.

Resolving error E13

This error usually comes out when replacing ink cartridges. This happen when one of them is improperly inserted or cannot be recognized by the printer. This problem can be done in just one step by just  pressing the button for about 6 seconds. If still exist, pull the cartridges and re-insert again and start over again.

Resolving error P07

This error may be solved with some pretty steps which you have to follow together with the resetter (which can be downloaded from some blogs or sites).

I got a hard time on this error too. However, I was able to solve it after a few attempts.

Here are the steps:
  1. Turn off the printer
  2. Press Stop/Reset Button and the power button at the same time
  3. Then, release the Stop/reset button while the power button intact
  4. Then, press the stop/reset button 6 times and release them both (stop/reset and power button) so the printer will be in the service mode condition.
Click cancel when your computer detected a device hardware message (image above)or just close it.

Extract the service tool for Canon MP287 you downloaded and click the resetter

Under Clear Ink counter click

Main (it will reset the counter and will print a page)

A window message will appear after printing a page, close it.

Then under SAVE click EEPROM
